Certified Nurses Assistant

The emphasis of this course is in Geriatric and Long Term Care, but also includes Hospital procedures and ethics.

Anatomy and Physiology as well as basic terminology are covered, along with Patients Rights, use of restraints, restraint free environments and legal issues. To be a graduate each student must attend thirty one lessons or 130 hours of instruction. This includes both lecture and practice sessions. The classroom and clinical areas are taught and supervised by a Registered Nurse. Graduates may work in varying environments.

The course covers the OBRA Act of 1987 which was implemented in 1989. Clinical Externship is thirty hours and is given at an approved Nursing Home.

*State testing is conveniently available at our location for our BAT students.
